Security

Is Simplify Money safe?

Straight answer: no app can promise perfect security, and our privacy policy says exactly that. What we can state precisely: we never rent, lease or sell your information to third parties without your consent; we read your SMS only after you explicitly allow it; and you can review and update your data from inside the app.

What we do and do not claim

We use industry-standard security technologies and procedures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, destruction, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or a data breach will never occur.

Encryption in transit

This website is served over HTTPS only — plain HTTP requests are redirected, and the minimum accepted protocol is TLS 1.2.

We are confirming exactly how the app protects data on its way to us, and will state it precisely here rather than approximately.

What we collect

Everything below is listed in our privacy policy. Some of it only reaches us if you explicitly opt in.

You give us directly

  • Contact details: mobile number and email address.
  • Identity details: name, date of birth, gender, PAN, and Aadhaar details with e-KYC.
  • Financial details: bank account details, card details, billing address, payment details, income and expense data.
  • Other details: marital status, biometric data and nominee details.
  • Investment statements you upload as PDF or Excel, or investment details you enter by hand.

Only with your explicit consent

  • Your SMS inbox — read to find transaction messages from banks, cards and wallets, so the app can organise your expenses and balances.
  • Your Gmail account, connected to retrieve relevant financial information.
  • Your financial profile — income, expenses, assets, liabilities and insurance — captured through a third-party service provider.
  • Liabilities information from credit aggregation portals such as CRIF.

What we share

We will not rent, lease, or sell any information to third parties without your consent.

We are publishing a single precise summary of what is and is not shared, checked line by line against our privacy policy.

Your data, and getting it out

You can review and update your personal information through self-help tools in the app. You can withdraw your consent, ask for a copy of your personal information, and tell us not to use it for direct marketing. After an account is deactivated, information is retained in accordance with applicable laws.

We are documenting the deletion request process and will publish the exact steps here.

Who inside the company can see your data

Security questions.

Is my data safe with Simplify Money?

Here is our actual position, in the words of our privacy policy: we use industry-standard security technologies and procedures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, destruction, or disclosure. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or a data breach will never occur. This website itself is served over HTTPS only, with TLS 1.2 as the minimum accepted protocol.

No. Our privacy policy states that we will not rent, lease, or sell any information to third parties without your consent. Sharing is a separate question from selling, and we answer it plainly: the policy does allow disclosure to legal, statutory and regulatory authorities, to partners and service providers acting on our behalf, to third parties where necessary to protect rights, property and safety, where directed or required by law, and to financial institutions to verify or mitigate fraud.

We are not an RBI-regulated entity, and we do not claim to be. On SEBI, our position is word-for-word what our compliance page says: No, not yet. Our application is under review. In practice that means we can help you learn about money, track your accounts and goals, show you analytics on your own data, and file your ITR. It also means we cannot tell you which specific stock or mutual fund to buy, analyse your portfolio, or build you a financial plan. Nothing in the app is investment advice — you make your own decisions. What we do hold: Turvas Technology Solutions Private Limited is a Government of India recognised start-up (DIPP153513), and Simplify Money Private Limited is an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor (ARN-363095).

Uninstalling the app removes it from your phone. It is not the same as deleting your account or your data. Our privacy policy retains information as long as necessary to carry out the services, to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes, and in accordance with applicable laws after an account is deactivated. If you want your information dealt with, contact us rather than relying on uninstalling.

Your transaction data reaches us only if you opt in: the app reads your SMS inbox for messages from banks, cards and wallets after you explicitly consent, and uses them to organise your expenses and balances and show you analytics. Our privacy policy also permits disclosure to regulators, to service providers acting on our behalf, and to financial institutions to verify or mitigate fraud. We are documenting exactly who inside the company can access user data, and will publish it here.

No promises we cannot keep. Read the policy itself.
