Adjustment to cost of acquisition based on Cost Inflation Index (CII) for calculating long-term capital gains on non-equity assets.
In Context
Indexation reduces the taxable capital gain by adjusting the original purchase cost for inflation. Available for property, gold, and debt mutual funds (LTCG). NOT available for listed equity or equity mutual funds.
